At Neo Benshi, through the magic of live voiceover, that four minute clip of Judge Judy yelling can be turned into the cathartic sentencing of your ex-boyfriend to actual hell.
During the silent film era in Japan (1920's, 1930's), Benshi performers stood to the side of the movie screen to introduce and relate the story to the audience. In the theatrical style, Benshi often spoke for the characters on-screen and played multiple roles. We are taking this long-honored tradition and challenging comedy teams to reinterpret video clips of varying mediums, with hilarious results.
