Behold a new church that worships an enlightened fetus-god. Its gospel is preached by a beatboxing-virtuoso cowboy prophet — with the help of his trusty trombone, didgeridoo and electronic loop station. Each ceremony, performers explore a new theme. Expect spoken word, cutting-edge music technology, interactive psychedelic animations and performances from members of nationally touring funk band The Heard. After the squirt-gun baptism, teams of audience members compete in “The Holy Games” to win money for Chicago charities.

Created by Bryant Smith — trombone player of The Isley Brothers, computer tech artist and creator of iO’s recurring show “Electrodide: Ancient Electronic Goddess.”

“Unlike anything you’ve seen before. Artful, tuneful and exciting.”- Rick Kogan, Chicago Tribune

"[Bryant Smith's] gravelly, fetishy cowboy voice with the similarly pixelated drones of the didgeridoo is maybe the most satisfying and transfixing thing I've heard in a while."-Jenna Lyle, Chicago Reader

"iO's 'Ayahuasca Baby' is quite the experience...audiences are left in a cohesive awe." -Ellie Danisch, Odyssey
