Bill Russell

Bill Russell made his theatrical debut in 1983 with the Second City Children’s Show before joining the ImprovOlympics (now iO Theater) where he was a member of the house team “Barons Barracudas,” directed by Del Close, and performed in Mr. Close’s scenario play “Honor Finnegan vs. the Brain of the Galaxy.” He performed with the Chicago improv troupe “Spontaneous Combustion” for over 15 years. He has appeared in numerous TV commercials and shows, including two appearances as a winner on the ABC-TV show “America’s Funniest People,” and his TV spot for Alaska Airlines was featured in an installment of “World’s Funniest Commercials.” Currently he is an on-staff performer and teacher at The Comedy Shrine in Aurora.
